Recycled Paper Instead of Ancient Forests!

From the The Action Blog:

Did you know that over two acres of ancient trees in the Boreal Forest are killed every minute? And did you also know that many of these trees end up in landfills as disposable paper products such as Kleenex, Scott, Huggies, Pull-Ups, Depends, and others?

As regular consumers of household paper products, we should have a say where that paper comes from. Click through to The Action Blog to make your voice heard on this subject!

Thanks Melissa! We buy Seventh Generation as well, but because we have a storage problem in our house, we cant buy in bulk…but what a great idea!

Marcal uses recycled content in their paper products including toilet paper and napkins, and it’s one of the few brands easily available in many major stores. Also, I found that I can buy seventh generation recycled papertowels in bulk from amazon.com, and with free shipping it is quite a savings!

Thanks for the links. Seventh Generation is a great company. We use as much of their stuff as we can.

If paper can be recycled back into paper, that means that less trees have to be used to make the paper in the first place. Not all of our paper products come from tree farms, only a percentage does. The more paper we can recycle, the better. There are huge populations around the world that are still cutting forests to make paper products…

Recycling paper is one of the most foolish thing someone concered about the environment could do. I never recycle paper. Most (if not all) of the consumer products we use come from tree farms. We eat alot of french fries, do you think companies rely on wild potatos? No, there are potato farms. I live about 5 miles from a paper recycling plant. Let me tell you, the chemicals and odor that comes out of that place has turned anyplace within a mile of it a wastland. While local landfills can be turned into parks. If you care about the environment PLEASE DO NOT RECYCLE PAPER.
