Running a website about the environment gets you a lot of press releases and product samples sent to you, whether you want them or not. Most of these are from either A. a company trying to greenwash a product and asking me to do it for them or B. something that none of us even care about. But today I got a sample of an Envirosax Organic Bamboo shopping bag and I am pretty impressed! These bags are made from 100% sustainable bamboo, are 100% biodegradable and are naturally anti-bacterial…which is good for a bag used to carry possibly wet groceries in. I am a firm believer in bringing my own bags to the grocery store and have not had to bring home plastic nor paper bags from the store in over a year. Usually we just grab whatever canvas bags we have lying around, but if you want (or need) something a little more stylish to go with your designer apparel (that doesn’t cost $400), you should check these bags out. They are a lot cheaper than those “designer” canvas bags everyone was going crazy about a while back and yet they are even better looking. The bags come in either organic bamboo, linen and even hemp and are available in a ton of different designs. I am sure the wife will be happy about this bag we just got as it is pretty cool looking and will replace one of the dirty canvas bags we have that is falling apart. These bags are not that cheap…but if you want to use something other than a leftover bag from a convention you went to in 1999, they might be worth a look for you.
