Parabens are not all bad. A universal and simple preservative. Methylparaben - one of the most common has been extensively reviewed and I can point you to NO paper which says there is any reason to believe it is connected to cancer. The single case being explored now is a metabolite of methylparaben that can form in the presence of skin ethers that may be potentially harmful. However, the general metabolism of methylparaben is extremely rapid and bears has been shown to have an extremely short resonance time in the human body. This paper in particular provides a thorough review of the publications (http://bit.ly/bWOUd3). The following link is also an overview of the compound if you would like a brief summary: http://drop.io/methlyparaben

Do your research before believing everything you read on a pop-blog.
For the record, I enjoy the good human and read it quite often.

Nope, parabens aren't linked to cancer at all :

Cornell

Personally, I am not waiting to find out later that parabens actually cause cancer - a link is close enough for me to choose to avoid this chemical. You are, of course, welcome to continue ingesting a possible-cancer causing ingredient.

Thank you for the information, I will surely pass it on and make myself a quick list to use while at the store!

Question though. If 1,4-dioxane is found in even basic organic non-chemical-based cosmetics as a part of manufacture, that makes it sound like it's best to avoid store-bought cosmetics altogether. Is this correct?
