Great Resource for DIY Vintage Projects

Some of you may remember an article I wrote a while back titled “Bringing back the past to save the future” which talked a little about the need to revert to the good ole’ days in some ways to preserve life as we know it today. And some of you may even remember my experiment in constructing a solar oven for $1.50 and building a solar heater for my garage. Well, for those of you who are fans of those kinds of articles, I found a rather interesting website you should check out. Vintage Projects has the inspired goal to “preserve the inspired DIY spirit of the past” by offering up cool free project plans for you to download and try on your own.

These vintage plans come from a half-century ago when do-it-yourself enthusiasts turned wood, metal and old motors into useful workhorses, functional tools, and toys.

There are all sorts of free PDF downloads of plans for the DIYers out there to try out, and even if none of them are exactly what you are looking for you may come across solutions to problems you just couldn’t figure out on your own. If you are interested in how things worked in the past and how you can bring some of them back to life for use today, I recommend you take a look at Vintage Projects.
