U.S. planemaker Boeing has teamed up with South African Airways to develop jet fuel from a tobacco plant as part of efforts to cut carbon emissions and promote green energy in Africa’s most advanced economy. Well, I suppose that’s a much better use of tobacco than getting lung cancer is.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) denied an application to use a hazardous pesticide on 3 million acres of Texas cotton fields, after groups representing environmental, public health, and organic farm interests urged the agency to reject the request based on environmental effects. Everyone would benefit from planting even just an herb or two in their own kitchen.
Have a great weekend everyone!
