First of all, I hate that expression….”friendly fire“. Since when is it friendly to fire at anyone? That all being said, there is some news today out about how the military actually told its soldiers to lie to families about how their loved ones were killed. If you remember, Pat Tillman, the ex football player, was killed in action over in Iraq some time ago. At the time it happened, the military and government said he was a hero and made up the explanation of how he was killed; but we did not know at the time it was made up. Today, Army Ranger U.S. Army Spc. Bryan O’Neal had this to tell:
An Army Ranger who was with Pat Tillman when the former football star died by friendly fire said Tuesday he was told by a higher-up to conceal that information from Tillman’s brother.
“I was ordered not to tell him,” U.S. Army Spc. Bryan O’Neal told the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
He said he was given the order by then-Lt. Col. Jeff Bailey, the battalion commander who oversaw Tillman’s platoon.
Even though I should be pissed off and angry, it does not surprise me. Not even the lives of our soldiers are enough to stop this administration from lying.
