This week’s Do One Thing comes courtesy of a The Good Human reader, who wants you to start bringing your own set of utensils to work every day instead of using and tossing the plastic ones provided in the office kitchen. And while you are at it, see if you can convince a few other people to do the same as well! I remember when I took my lunch to the office every day that I brought my own knife and fork with me which I brought home every day to wash…even though they provided plastic utensils and paper plates in the lunchroom. Bringing your own is such an easy way to reduce waste!

  1. I bring my bamboo utensils and glass straws when I am out with my toddler. I even let him use a glass straw from Glass Dharma too! I’ve started leaving the plastic lid off of my to-go coffee cup now too. I just sit and drink some so it won’t spill when we walk. 🙂

  2. I am lucky enough to have access to a kitchen sink at work, so I just wash mine when I’m done with them and leave them at work.

  3. I bring my water in a Nalgene bottle, and my snacks in containers that can be reused. About the only thing that gets thrown out is the aluminum foil that I wrap my sandwich in.
