This week’s Do One Thing involves any junk mail that still finds it’s way into your home. Before you tear it all up and recycle it, check to see if there is a reply envelope inside it. Don’t throw away a perfectly good envelope! Recycle everything else but save that envelope to use for casual mailing (you don’t want to submit your resume in one, now do you?). Just use a magic marker to cover up the address and the postage-paid part, make your own address label, and put on a new stamp. Voila – a free envelope for mailing that gets to be used at least once before heading to the recycling bin!

  1. Yes! Great post! We do this same thing at our house, and I’ve come to be quite fond of my giant extra envelope stash. Good times, and a great “Do one thing”.
