This giveaway has ended.

Normally, I don’t even really cover Earth Day because I believe that we should take care of our planet every day of the year. However, this year Glass Dharma, the maker of reusable glass straws, contacted me to see if I would be interested in giving away a gift certificate to their store to a lucky reader of The Good Human. Of course, I agreed – plastic disposable straws sit in landfills for 500 – 1000 years!

Glass Dharma sent me a few straws to try out here at my house, and while I am not normally a “straw” person I did find myself using them for icy summer drinks like lemonade and mojitos. It’s nice knowing that I can use a straw and not just toss it in the trash after having a drink.

The glass straws from Glass Dharma come with a lifetime guarantee and they promise that if it breaks, it will be repaired or replaced. Amazing, right? They are made from borosilicate glass and are dishwasher and microwave safe, as well as safe for use in both hot and cold drinks. Available in different sizes, colors, and diameters, chances are you can find one that works just right for your favorite beverage.

Now, what about that giveaway?

One lucky winner will receive a $25.00 Gift Certificate Gift Code to use at Glass Dharma. It will be emailed to you directly from the company. Here’s how to enter, pay close attention to the rules so your entry counts!

  1. I would love to have a glass straw to use for my lemon, cucumber, mint water. I’m sure my kids would love them too for lemonade, water or any drink!

  2. These are great! I would absolutely use one for my iced coffee each day! I have a reusable one now but don’t really like it since its plastic. I lOVE the glass idea 🙂

  3. I would love to use this for my son. He is 18 months old and just started using straws. The sippy cup straws get so nasty and trow aways get chewed to bits.

  4. We would really appreciate these glass straws! Last year we discovered that my teens (14 & 17) are both gluten intolerant…no more cereal, bagels, french toast or pancakes (we still do gluten free once in a while but it’s just not the same). Where we use straws every morning is with our huge assortment of smoothies…chocolate walnut, super berry, strawberry banana, maple vanilla…all with a good dose of kale, chia and greek yogurt. Both of my kids told me that they feel so much more awake and alert after a super smoothie! Since I transitioned to smoothies as well, I feel the same way…great!

Until I go through all those freaking straws…three a day, seven days…hang on, there’s math involved…twenty one straws in a week!!! Glass straws just may save my life (or at least keep me from going insane)!

  5. I have grandkids who love straws for everything. These would be a great way to teach them a little about responsible action.

  6. There are so many eco things that a person doesn’t think about. Straws is the thing that did not occur to me until I read your post. I use straws for frozen wine coolers, shakes/malts, and cola floats in the summer. Thank you for always enlightening me to the eco way.

  7. I would use my Glass Straw for drinking my morning green drink!
If you have ever used a reusable cup & straw for your morning green drink, you know it’s not easy to clean and you end up using plastic straws!
green drink – good for body — straw to drink it with – bad for body earth! 🙁
    Thank you! 🙂

  8. I have had these on my wish list for a long time. Right now I just reuse a good plastic straw for a while before it gets gross. I use straws for everything because my teeth a super sensitive to temperature change, but right now I’d use it for iced tea.

  9. I would use this for my all-day sipping straw with my ice water, tea, whatever I’m drinking. I already re-use my plastic straws till there’s nothing left of them. A lifetime-guaranteed glass straw would be awesome.

  10. My kids love do drink their smoothies with straws. We make them a few times a week so I’d love to have these pretty straws to serve them with.

  11. I make a green smoothie that I drink in the car every morning on my way to work and I find it much easier to do with a straw vs. my travel mug. I’ve been thinking about trying glass straws to eliminate the extra waste.

  12. My boyfriend loves Starbucks and I always hate to have to throw away the straw, despite all my recycling efforts. I would give it to him as a present so we’d be creating less waste! 🙂

  13. These are great! Less trash sitting in the landfills are always a great thing.

I would use this straw for sipping freshly brewed ice tea this Summer and for many more to come!

  14. I would use it to feed my baby bunnies, use it like a dropper. OK, I’d also use it for my wonderful, healthy smoothies.

  15. I would use this for my son! He’s the ONLY one in the house who uses a straw. I’ve told him how wasteful plastic straws are but he really likes straws. :). I recycle everything and am very Eco conscious. We use stainless steel lunch containers and water bottles. So these straws would make a wonderful addition to our home.

  16. I would love to use it for my green smoothies. I know the glass straw would further motivate my girls to drink their smoothies. 😉

Wish I’d known about the lifetime guarantee when I bought a GlassDharma straw years ago (when they first came out) as a gift for my daughter who subsequently broke it!

Thanks for the chance to win!
