The people over at Eco-Me were kind enough to send along a sample of their Scrub Cleanser kit last week for me to try out, and we really liked it. It is a novel idea in green cleaning – a psuedo “do it yourself” kit, that provides the customer with a microfiber washable cloth, a small vial of pure plant essential oils (tea tree, lavender, rosemary & lemongrass), and a reusable & recyclable container to make your own cleanser in.
All we had to provide was baking soda, some white vinegar and water, and we had a eco-friendly scrubbing cleanser for the bathroom. These are the ingredients I have been talking about for years on this site, as being the only ones you truly need to do most of your household cleaning with, so it’s nice to see Eco-Me setting up a home user to make their own products in the right way with the right products. And since you are making it yourself, you know exactly what is in the scrub that you are using around your house. Also, we are big fans of using washable microfiber cloths instead of paper towels for everything from cleaning the shower to wiping up spills, so getting another one with this kit is pretty cool.
Overall, it cleaned well and left our guest bathroom smelling pretty good. If you want to make your own nontoxic, natural cleaners instead of buying some of the crap that they sell in the store, Eco-Me might be something for you to check out.
