Well what do we have here… Der Spiegel magazine in Germany. They have an interview with the former CIA European Division Director, Tyler Drumheller, that tells us what we have known all along; “The policy was set. The war in Iraq was coming and they were looking for intelligence to fit into the policy”. Ouch.
Mr. Drumheller also says that the CIA gave Colin Powell the “wrong” speech, you know, the one with the fake information in it, even after Drumheller told George Tenet that the information regarding mobile weapons labs was likely fake. But that didn’t matter, as this was the only way to get the American people and the Congress to give Bush his approval to go to war. No matter it was fake info, as “The policy was set. The war in Iraq was coming and they were looking for intelligence to fit into the policy”. (Sorry, couldn’t resist)
More lovely quotes from this interview:
“But never before have I seen the manipulation of intelligence that has played out since Bush took office.”
“Right before the war, I said to a very senior CIA officer: “You guys must have something else,” because you always think it’s the CIA. “There is some secret thing I don`t know.” He said: “No. But when we get to Baghdad, we are going to find warehouses full of stuff. Nobody is going to remember all of this.””
CBS also talked with Mr. Drumheller back in April, and no one noticed this in the media either:
“”The idea of going after Iraq was U.S. policy. It was going to happen one way or the other,” says Drumheller. “
So now we have a former CIA Director coming forward and telling us that the White House set up the evidence to match their march towards war. Anyone else think this is worse than what Clinton got impeached for? Anyone?
Coming up next, Bush administration hushes scientists on global warming, world astounded. Oh wait… no mainstream media picked that story up from yesterday either. Hmmm, curious.
