And finally, some good news. In a weird, you have to really read into this ruling way, a federal appeals court has put it on record that Monsanto cannot sue farmers for accidentally growing small amounts of patented crops – something they have been doing for years. By telling farmers that they were “imagining a threat that doesn’t exist” when they tried to sue Monsanto to protect themselves, the court basically told Monsanto that if the farmers don’t have to sue to protect themselves, then Monsanto can’t sue these farmers either. Confusing, I know.
