Did you know that for about $8.00 you can clean your entire house? OK so it’s not for a cleaning service, but it is for a bottle of soap that is good on almost all surfaces, including your own body. All of Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps are made from mostly fair trade, all natural and organic materials. The peppermint soap that we have in our house is made from Water, Saponified Organic Coconut & Olive oils (w/ retained Glycerin), Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Peppermint Oil, Organic Mentha Arvensis, Citric Acid, and Vitamin E Nothing bad in it at all! And what can I use it for? I can clean the kitchen counters, the kitchen floors, the entire bathroom, myself, I can shave with it, it makes good hand soap…need I go on? For some applications you need to water it down some, but that just makes the bottle last longer.

While I usually try to mix my own cleaners and such, sometimes its a lot easier to buy a bottle of Dr. Bronner’s and use it throughout the house. If you are curious, pick up a bottle at the store and check out the ingredients. Nothing toxic or questionable in the bottle. Good stuff and safe for your entire house…and you.

  1. I’ve got a question for you… can you use Dr. Bronners as a hand soap? I’m looking for an affordable, eco friendly hand soap to fill the bathroom dispenser with. Right now we buy the big jubs of soft soap or dial or whatever is on sale, but I’d really like something healthier than that. If you can use it, do you need to water it down or anything?

  2. Hey there! Yes, we use it as hand soap in the bathroom and the kitchen. I water it down to 3 parts water and 1 part Dr. Bronners and it works fine. You will like it, trust me. The peppermint smells great, but stay away from the almond, it kind of stinks once your hands dry.

  3. We use it for our hand soap, but you should be warned that it tends to clog up in the pump. It is not bad enough to make it unusable but some times you might get some soap spraying out in directions you would rather not have it going. Maybe if we watered it down a bit as david said this would not be a problem.

I also use this for washing my body and hair as well as the dishes.

How do you use this soap for shaving? I have been looking for a good shaving cream or substitute.

  4. You are right Chad, it sometimes does. We found that with watering it down it still did it, but a little less. And for shaving, I use it straight, no watering needed. Just a little dab in my hand and it works great and I rarely have bumps or anything anymore.

  5. Thank you both. I will have to try this next time I shave.

Peppermint is great for washing yourself in the summer, as it has a cooling effect.

  6. I tried out Dr. Bronner’s soap when I shaved and it worked surprisingly well. I thought I would let you know and thank you for the suggestion.

  7. Not only is Dr. Bronner’s organic and fair trade, but the bottles are made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic.

Too many natural and organic products these days are sold in virgin petro-plastic containers. This is the one cleaner that I buy in a bottle because the bottle is 100% recycled.
