You could go out and buy some toxic stain remover to get out unwanted stains in your carpet or clothing; but why would you want to when you can remove stains naturally?

You can use a few products that are not only cheap and easy to find but are also nontoxic and natural. In fact, you probably already have them in your medicine cabinet, just waiting for you to find yet another use for them. What am I talking about?

Ingredients To Remove Stains Naturally

To make your own stain-remover cleaning spray, fill up an empty spray bottle with hydrogen peroxide and about 1/2 cup of baking soda or so. Use this mixture as you would a product like Resolve, spraying it directly on the stain, letting it sit for a few, and then blotting it dry. If the spot doesn’t come out entirely, you may want to then wash the item (if it is clothing) in cold water with a small drop of dish soap. This mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda works on:

  • Blood Stains
  • Coffee Stains
  • Wine Stains
  • Carpet Stains
  • Tile Grout

I am sure you will find other uses for it to clean up around your home. As with any natural homemade product, I suggest you test it on an inconspicuous spot before spraying it on the front of your favorite shirt. If the ratio I listed above isn’t working for you, feel free to play around with that a little bit to meet your needs. The good thing about hydrogen peroxide and baking soda is that it has tons of uses in addition to removing stains:

  • Deodorize a pet that was sprayed by a skunk
  • Wash out cuts
  • Use as mouthwash
  • Use as toothpaste
  • “Bleach” your hair
  • Wipe down counters and sinks

It’s amazing what a few inexpensive and natural products can replace around the home. Why we feel the need to buy bottle after bottle of toxic cleaners I will never understand; the natural stuff is proven to work and has been around forever. So next time, I recommend trying out a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to remove stains naturally. It should do the trick without exposing you or your family to toxic chemicals.
