Ahhh the weekend. After a strange week where Wednesday felt like Saturday, I am ready for the real thing. But before I go I will leave you with these stories you might have missed.

The executive director of a California agency charged with implementing a landmark global warming law resigned, saying Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s office made it impossible for her to do her job. So much for the fact that we thought he was for the environment.

We watched The Future Of Food this week, and while the documentary is a bit dry and slow in parts, the information included in it blows my mind. Did you know that most of the seeds used for our food come from only 4 companies, and they are starting to patent them so they “own” whatever comes from them? The film talks a lot about genetically modified seeds and food along with letting us know that most of the officers at the biggest seed company in the country have been heads at the FDA, EPA and other government organizations. Scary stuff but worth a watch if you can find the film. We got ours through Netflix…

From The Baltimore Sun: Besides all his other gifts, Thomas Jefferson appears to have been prophetic. “Should we wander from them in moments of error or of alarm, let us hasten to retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty and safety.” A government that spies upon its citizens, evades the courts and feels no compulsion to explain itself beyond vague warnings of security threats must be brought into check. The damage caused by terrorists on 9/11 begins to pale against the havoc wreaked upon America by America itself.

Congressman John Olver from Massachusetts he believes this administration will likely strike Iran from the air, declare a national emergency, and cancel the ’08 elections. However, he is still not going to go after impeachment. Huh?

I would say Have A Great Weekend but that was an awfully depressing list of reads…oh well, not everything is peachy-keen!
